Endace Cup 2011 Winners: Electrical Part III

The annual IEEE Student Branch Soccer Tournament was held on the 13th of September at the University Recreational Centre.  This year marked the introduction of two new teams into the Soccer Tournament; Biomedical Engineering and Engineering Science, who proved to be determined competitors. The other competing teams in the tournament came from the specialisations: Mechatronics, Electrical, Software and Computer Systems engineering as well as a post-graduate ECE team.
The tournament lasted three hours, each game being 15 minutes long. The speed of the games built up the atmosphere within the Recreational Centre and it was evident that all the teams were focused on winning the Endace Cup for 2011.
The tournament rounded off with a final match between Mechatronics Part II and Electrical Part III. Both teams were resolute on winning the tournament and it was a nail biter. When the game ended in a tie, a penalty shootout was conducted to determine the winner of the tournament. Electrical Part III won, taking home the Endace Cup.
Our congratulations to Electrical Part III for winning the Tournament, and thanks must go out to all the teams that participated. It was definitely a memorable event for everyone and it is all thanks to the Class Rep, the teams involved and the spectators who came out to support their teams on the day.
For those who came to the event, we hope you all enjoyed it, and if you couldn’t make it this year, we hope to see you all next year.
Cheers,
The UoA Student Branch Exec. Committee.
